This is a demeanor I too have adopted - I think that is probably obvious to you if you have been reading my blog :-).

As a prospect or client, I too am put off by the uncomfortable stiffness when someone is "acting" too professional.

Why do I say "act"? Because that is not how they are normally. Is that how they are at home, with their friends, or with their family? Most certainly not. I would rather receive the authentic person and be treated as a friend rather than a steril commodity. Make sense?

How are you acting when you are selling, presenting or communicating? Friendly and natural or contrived and stiff? Good thing to check-in on.

We're going to start a new series on the blog called Sales Rants with Jeffery Gitomer.

I have studied a lot of sales trainers and Jeffrey's is by far my favorite.

Why? His information and delivery is straight forward and good common sense with out all the fluff and pontification. In fact, every company I have started or done a turn-around for I have bought and distributed his book - The Sales Bible. Everything you ever needed to know about sales and the sales process is in that book - I recommend it!

I recently ran into Jeffrey while going through the Miami airport. We reconnected and I asked him if I could pass along his "Sales Rants" (one to two minute video sales tips) on my blog. He was delighted and agreed.
